FFCRA Self Employed Tax Credit Application

The max credit that an individual can receive is $32,200

History of the FFCRA

March 2020

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) provides tax credits to small and midsize employers, reimbursing them for expenses incurred in providing paid sick and family leave wages to employees for COVID-19-related leave. Self-employed individuals are also eligible for equivalent tax credits. These credits apply to leave taken between April 1, 2020, and December 31, 2020.

December 2020

The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 was passed, further extending the initial FFCRA credit. This extension now covers the period from January 1, 2021, to March 31, 2021.

March 2021

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, which has already been passed, has established a new eligibility timeframe for FFCRA credits. This timeframe extends from April 1, 2021, to September 30, 2021. The second round of the credit has broadened the scope of eligible days to now include leave related to immunization.
